fi F.Y.I.

As much as I loathe talking about myself I suppose that is what this page for. And, because I’m in the business, I visit a lot of other photographer’s sites. I always look for the “About” page and it never ceases me to amaze me at how many photographers won’t give you any idea of what they’ve accomplished or what experience informs their work. This is my attempt to set a better example. So here goes…

I spent most of my life in the music business on the west coast. I worked for almost twenty years for retailers and record labels. I started out as a record store clerk when I was in my teens and went to being the youngest purchasing GM for a thirty-four store regional music chain.

I’ve worked for record labels as diverse as RCA Red Seal Classics and ZOO Entertainment in sales and marketing. I worked as the Mainstream Marketing person for BMG Distribution representing more than thirty record labels with more than 200 artists over a territory that comprised Northern California, Utah, Nevada and Hawaii containing over 400 retailers.

I spent some time as Creative Director for musical artists such as Aerosmith, Whitney Houston, Bush, Janet Jackson, Primus, Melissa Etheridge, BoyzIIMen and others.

I’m a published photographer in magazines such as International Wristwatch, InSync, UR, Chronos and World Tempus.

My photography and graphic design work has been featured in Susquehanna Style, Lancaster County Magazine, Fine Living Lancaster, Builder & Architect, Renovations & Additions as well as several permutations of the Clipper Magazine.

My work has appeared in many newspapers across the US including, of course, the Lancaster Newspapers in all their permutations. A photograph of mine has graced the front page for the Intelligencer twice.

I’ve been interviewed in Billboard Magazine, Video Retailer, GAVIN, MusicSource and many others which, thankfully, I’ve forgotten.

I founded, own and run the Prius Owners Group, a very successful site dedicated to publishing news and commentary of interest to hyrbid car owners. I also started Prius Drive Thru as a chronicle of our road trips in the Prius.

I founded, own and run DrivesUsMedia. DrivesUsMedia produces weekly shows on topics such advanced technology transportation, consumer electronics and how to drink better. We are currently in production on a show about high end wristwatches. Other than photography, this is the most fun I have getting paid. Check out those shows, I’m very proud of them.

Over the years I’ve created and been web admin for various local businesses. These days I (mostly) stick to my own sites.

The depth of my retailing experience informs my marketing thought takes a ground level approach to building your brand image as well as your business in a sustainable and profitable way. The breadth of my artistic experience means you get a lot of people for the price of one. I’m reasonably easy to work with and my main goal is not further my own artistic vision but to help you realize yours. Collaboration is the key to success.
