Joe Mitchell, the man behind College Row’s European Eyeware brought me in to do some product and identity work. I think the results came out quite nice.

Before European Eyeware opened Joe was involved with Olde Towne opticians on Duke Street and it was there that I met him as a loyal customer. Joe’s work is top shelf. His attention to detail and knowledge in fitting you is second to none. Perhaps as important, European Eyeware carries frames that no one else in the area does. The quality and uniqueness of the products European Eyeware have made me a committed customer long before I had the pleasure to work with them. All of which is to say, if you need glasses, go see Joe. You’ll get better, much more stylish and durable frames, personalized service and it won’t cost more than the “chain stores” and doctor’s offices charge. What more could you ask for?
I flew to Detroit. DC and NYC are reasonably short regional drives at under three hours each way. Chicago, on the other hand, was eleven hours. If you count Indiana it was eleven hours and a lifetime. And with that said, the weather in Chicago was unusually beautiful. The day of the event it was in the low sixties with a perfect blue sky, in February, in Chicago. Amazing.
The Prius Connection in Chicago was the largest attended by over two hundred guests. The River East Arts Plaza was a beautiful venue.
One word; Indiana

Prius Connection Manhattan was appropirately ensconced in the Skylight Gallery in Tribeca.

A mere stones throw from the White House is the Ronald Reagan Building on Pennsylvania Avenue. The atrium was the venue for the D.C. Prius Connection and it made a wonderfully dramatic backdrop for the gathering.

Second day in Detroit attending the rollout of the 2010 Prius. A press conference at midday with a private video feed and a gormet lunch. A free afternoon but that evening, the big event at the Avery Fischer Music Center, when we actually got to see the new Prius.
Dawn in Detroit

The press conference begins

And the inevitable post press conference discussions of what we learned

And then it was time for the evening event…
Yes, when we arrived the three Priuses there were under sheets. Red sheets.

Which were dramatically removed at the appropriate time

The entire group (minus yours truly who is standing on a ladder taking this shot)
