For the last week or so (and for the rest of this week) I’ll be working on the annual Lancaster Parade Of Homes. As rewarding as it, it is also extremely time consuming. You can view the results at the Flickr gallery. Here is the page that the Parade work resides on.

And with that said, the second of my two lenses has died. I was redused to hand focusing an autofocus lens and activity which, as much as I love the many zen discplines of photography, is not rewarding. And that’s due entirely to the fact that these lenses are not made to be focused by hand and it’s extremely difficult.

But…after a fashion, it works.

So look at the vast majority of those images of the Parade with a little more knowledge knowing that there wasn’t the standard “zzzzzzzz” noise and the camera was focused. No. It was my chubby little fingers that did it.

Said lens is going back to Nikon today for a rejuve. So, off to Nikonland for two weeks. It makes sad because the next two weeks are actually going to be fairly eventful.

Which brings me to my second and final topic, after this week, I head west on vacation until July 5th. I do not yet know if I’ll be able to update the site during my absence. It’s my earnest hope I can. It all depends on whether or not a new laptop is magically delivered or, if our existing laptop can make the trip.

We’ll be spending time with Frost family in Las Vegas and in San Diego. So the pictures should be interesting (not the family stuff). Toyota has agreed to supply me with a hybrid review vehicle. I’m not sure which one but I’m excited about the prospect of driving another Toyota hybrid and quite grateful that Toyota has agreed to support the Prius Owners Group to that level.

More news and it happens…
